Bluestar sponsor Talking Book for RNIB

Tuesday, January 10 2017

Over the last few months, our team have been working to raise over £1,500 for RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) through a number of different fundraising activities held in Southampton.

The money raised will enable RNIB to produce a new children’s title for its Talking Books service, which provides over one million audio books every year free-of-charge to people who have difficulty in reading standard print.

Stacey Churton, Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager said;  ‘We are delighted to have sponsored Laura Amy Schlittz’s ‘Fire Spell’ and are thrilled this will now be added to the RNIB Talking Book library for children to enjoy for years to come’.

Natalie Hargreaves, RNIB Area Fundraising Manager said: “For over 80 years RNIB’s Talking Books service has created a lifeline to the outside world.

“Thanks to the support of businesses like Bluestar, we can keep expanding our library, making sure people with sight loss don’t miss out on the joy of a good book.

“If you’ve been inspired by the team from Bluestar, you, too, can get involved and Sponsor a Talking Book. Simply visit and get started today!”
