Romsey takes centre stage for latest Bluestar bus launch

Monday, January 16 2017
Managing director Andrew Wickham was joined at an unveiling ceremony by Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes.
“We are incredibly proud of our 12 new British-built Enviro 200 vehicles vehicles - and five of them will operate here between Southampton and Romsey,” said Andrew Wickham.
“This is part of our programme of continuous improvement in Hampshire. Those travelling with us have been very clear about the enhancements they’d like to see to see on this popular service and we have listened to them.
“We have invested around £750,000 in the Bluestar 4 route with these new buses. They boast low emissions Euro 6 engines and are equipped with on-board technology, including free WiFi and USB charging points for smartphones and hand-held devices.
“The team here at Bluestar is looking forward to seeing the new buses out and about and transporting those who use this service whilst living in or visiting the region.”
Caroline Nokes MP added: “I am delighted to see the level of investment that Bluestar has put in to the route between Romsey and Southampton. The addition of these new, environmentally-friendly, buses with modern amenities is a clear demonstration of Bluestar’s commitment to the area.”
