Budding mechanic Vincent ‘Vinnie’ Burnett (21) is hopeful of gaining an exciting apprenticeship with Bluestar, after completing a special course through The Rainbow Project. Vinnie, from Southampton, joined us through the project after being put forward with three other candidates for interview. He impressed and was successful - joining for an initial 12 month period. And now it is hoped he will continue to develop with us as an apprentice.
“Vinnie has done extremely well and is on target to gaining an apprenticeship,” said Trudi Thompson of The Rainbow Project.
Steve Prewett, Bluestar engineering manager, added: “Vinnie has shown real enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. I hope to see him develop his career further with us over the coming months and years.”
“This has been an amazing learning experience for me,’ said Vinnie. “I’ve really enjoyed my time with the company, and everyone has helped me through my training. I can’t wait for the next stage of my career development to begin.”
The Rainbow project helps vulnerable young people become viable job candidates by giving them training and helping them with personal presentation and other skills they will need in the workplace.
