Hampshire youngster Jowen Airs got to experience some time on the buses this month.
Jowen, who attends Osborne School in Winchester, was welcomed as a new member of the Bluestar team as he was given the chance to take the driving seat on a bus at our depot in Eastleigh.
“Jowen loves buses, he’s been a fanatic for a long time” said dad Peter Airs. “He’s very good with timetables, loves going on bus trips - and his aim is to one day work for a bus company. Due to his special needs, he may not get to be a driver but he’d certainly be happy to help with the timetables!
“One thing Jowen absolutely loves is driving his bus simulator, where he’s logged over 1500 hours of driving time. Visiting Bluestar really was an amazing experience for him, and he made some wonderful memories. I would like to thank the team for their brilliant hospitality.”
Charlotte Mair, Bluestar marketing executive, added: “It was an absolute pleasure welcoming Jowen to our depot here in Eastleigh. He showed real enthusiasm when our area engineering manager Steve Prewett and operations manager Andy Shaw explained their roles and gave him a tour.
“I’m glad Jowen had such a great time, and hope to see him again in the future.”
