Bramshaw Golf Club juniors achieve international tournament success - with extra support from Bluestar

Junior players at Bramshaw Golf Club are celebrating tournament success and new sponsorship from Bluestar.

We provided £2000 to help the talented group of players represent England in the Home Nations Final in Portugal, this month - where they were crowned British champions.
Bramshaw is nationally accredited as a ‘high achiever’ by Golfmark, as a Club that actively supports youngsters in golf up to the age of 18. Its junior section has been growing in popularity and strength, enjoying more than 50 junior members - together with an Academy boasting another 25 players competing at a high level.
Bramshaw’s junior organiser, Nev James, said: “In recent years we introduced a more pro-active approach to encourage more young people to join us here at Bramshaw and enjoy the huge number of benefits to be gained from playing golf. The strategy adopted is clearly working and, after many recent victories, the Club is extremely proud that a team of our junior players achieved success for their country in Portugal this month.
“We’re incredibly appreciative of the support we have received from Bluestar to help get them there. Many of our junior members travel with Bluestar on a regular basis, so it’s great that we can extend this association with the bus company still further.”
General manager, Andy Rideout, said “In recent years, our players have achieved considerable success - reaching the England final three times, the England Golf National Championship once and achieving numerous victories in local tournaments. The support we’ve had from within the Club - and indeed from local businesses like Bluestar - is hugely appreciated and helps us make golf a far more accessible sport for all.”
Bluestar managing director, Andrew Wickham, added: “We’re thrilled to be adding our support to the club - and would like to congratulate the players on their success at the tournament. We serve many of those who live in the area, and consider ourselves part of this community - so we are always looking for ways to support schools, groups and clubs in-and-around Southampton.”
